Pull string art by Ania Asif
Hello everyone, I am going to show you an art technique today which is called ‘Pull string art’. When I learned this, I immediately knew I wanted to share this with everyone around me. It is simple and fun to do. The result we get after the process is reminiscent of a calla lily flower. You can get it framed and gift it to your friends or you can use it for decorating your house. The best part is, this technique doesn’t require expensive art supplies, the only materials needed for this technique are:
- String
- Ink
- Rough book
- Any Paper
THE PROCESS:
Start by practicing on your sketchbook or with some paper and a rough book.
First cut a piece of string, not so long that you cannot control it but long enough that you can swirl it around on the paper.
Now, dip the string in the ink, completely saturating it.
Take any rough book and keep your paper on it (folded in half)
Then hold the string over the paper you are using. Allow it to hit and lay on the paper in a random pattern. (Like in the video)
And close the book. Remember, half of your string should be outside the book that you can pull afterwards.
Now, pull the string slowly.
And open the book to see the beautiful flower like creations you have made!
