Making a Pillowcase Without Sewing By Saamia Ashraf

Image
Are you the one who has zero knowledge of sewing yet you drool over every other diy sewing project?? Well then you are the right kind of person I'm making this diy for,  Things you will need: ^ A spare cushion (I used a square cushion you can use any shape). ^ A fabric of your choice printed/plain /painted ^ A pair of scissors And that’s about it …  To prepare for your pillow or cushion cover, take the fabric and iron it first to get rid of all the creases. Next this is done lay out the fabric on a smooth surface and place the cushion in the center now you could either roughly cut the fabric leaving 3,4 inches on all four sides* (If you`re making a square cushion). Or you could measure the size of your cushion and then leave extra 2 inch on all sides. Now as you have completed the first step you`ll be left with 2 pieces of fabric, lay both the pieces one on the top and one on the bottom of the cushion and start tying knots carefully each side until the end ,to further customize it

Paper Making by Ania Asif

Today I’ll tell you how to recycle your own used paper. Instead of throwing your paper in the bin, you can recycle it by making a beautiful piece of art. So, the materials needed for this process are: 1. Used paper 2. Water 3. Bowl 4. Cooking blender 5. Stainer 6. Cloth 7. Dried leaves and flower petals (optional) PROCESS: Cut up your paper roughly into one-inch pieces. Soak your paper in water for one or two hours. Pour some water and the paper in the blender and Start blending it. You should blend it until it turns into a pulp. Take a tub, put the pulp mixture in it and some more water. If you want to make your paper colorful you can add organic products like; tea leaves, turmeric powder etc. or you can add watercolors and poster paints. Take your strainer (it can be of any size and shape) Immerse the strainer in the bowl in which is your pulp and then slowly bring it up out of the mix, until it is fully covered with the particles of pulp. Dalgona Coffee  Today I am going to tell you two fascinating cold coffee recipes. The first one is dalgona coffee. It is quite famous and super easy and fast to make. The recipe for 3 cup of coffee :- Black coffee 2 tbsp ( depends on how dark the coffee is) Caster sugar 3 tbsp Hot water 3 tbsp Stir it with spoon until free of lumps. After stirring, use an electric mixer to whisk. After 4 to 5 minutes, you will get a thick and sticky texture. Then pour some milk on ice in each glass. Scoop some dalgona on top of the milk and spread it nicely. And your dalgona is ready !!!!! If you want to make this coffee in winter, you can put hot milk instead of cold and not put ice in it.                                                   Another Cold Coffee There is no specific name for this coffee, you can just say cold coffee. This is also a very easy and quick recipe. It tastes so yummy that me and my sisters drink it every day !!!  Let's start making the coffee by taking out the blender, now

Poem: "Myself" by Ryyan Shahryar

Image
I see the sky beautiful and charming But the clouds of sadness make weather alarming I am afraid to go out And have my blood on a dog's snout You never know when you'll die Because of which I never lie I hope for the best and prepare for the worst So I give my prayers and I am called the first I never take blame on me for my mistake But I always keep what is mine to take I am a body under construction Because I am chosen for attraction I am the icon I am the one I am who I am looking for  I am "myself" Poet: Ryyan Shahryar

String art by Saamia Ashraf

Image
Ever heard of string art? I'm sure you did it’s the best diy activity plus pinterest is drooling all over with it, so I thought why not give it a try and share it with all of you guys .. Here are some quick fun facts I learned about string art; it was introduced in the early 19th century by an English woman who used this technique to teach math to the kids.  A French mathematician, Pierre Bézier, created a curve formula using string art to help solve complex equations. It is still used in computer graphics and related fields, known as Bézier curve.   the popularity of string art reached its peak in the 70's when every household used to have a string art picture on their walls. And yet several decades later the art has reemerged on the internet with more variety, intricacy and has opened doors for future artist's.                                               TOOLS REQUIRED: Wooden plank - size depends upon your design. I have used a 15 x 8 “inches wooden board with 1 inch t

1948 - A Haunting 😈

Image
When Pakistan was new to history its population was just 70 million. Therefore, many places were wild and uninhabited.   At the early days of migration, between 1948 - 49, there lived Molana Ahmed and his family near the suburbs of Karachi. They lived quite far from other families. Their house was very old probably of late 1800s and remained abandoned for several years until  Mr. Ahmed purchased it. But the thing that he didn't  know was… the house was HAUNTED!!!   It all started one night when everyone was deep asleep...there came a strange noise from the bedroom as if someone is trying to move the chairs from one corner to the other. Molana Ahmed got awake but suddenly the noises stopped. Mr. Ahmed gave no heed to the incident and went to sleep.   Early at dawn, when everyone  was asleep and Molana Ahmed was reciting Quran after Fajr  prayers, he heard some strange noises from the room adjacent to the room where his family was sleeping. He heard noises as if someone is cryi

This corona virus has me and my 8 years old twin sisters sitting at home so we took some art classes, there the lady was pretty nice and she gave us some tips and tricks on how to make geometrical designs. I had compass, protractor, scale, pencil, colors, and papers, from which we made these awesome design. We only used geometrical tools to make geometrical designs. We took 3 to 4 combination of colors or you can do pastel colors and color the whole design.  It was a soothing experience as we colored in the different shapes. My sisters and I enjoyed it a lot and hope you’ll too.  It would be a great pleasure if you try and share your designs with me in the comment section. Article by Eshal Salman
